DSC Alexor Alarm System
The Alexor Wireless Panel is the center component of DSC's 2-Way Wireless Security Suite. Because it operates completely wirelessly, installers have fewer holes to drill and fewer wires to pull. The system – with its full complement of exclusively compatible wireless accessories, detectors and keypads – takes far less time to install than traditional wired or hybrid systems. Less installation time means more installations completed throughout each day and ultimately more installation and monitoring revenue to the installer. Homeowners also benefit. Wireless installation means less waiting around and minimal compromise to the home structure. On this website you can read and write DSC alarm system reviews, ratings and
recommendations.
The DSC alexor is not for those looking for an easy to install 1 hour alarm installation. This is a fully featured alarm that require you to supply the power source, and cables and telephone line. Very nice looking and easy to use once up and running The DSC Alexor is a grade 2 Class 2 alarm not for the novice DIY installer.
Very pleased with Alexor alarm
The DSC alexor is a great looking alarm with some outstanding
features. Not the easiest alarm to install but then again to is a professional
grade alarm system not a B&Q type DIY alarm. The telephone connection is a
bit difficult. All in all installation took me 3 and half hours.
The LCD Keyfobs, very smart wireless keypad and excellent (9 year)
detector battery life make the Alexor worth the extra money in my book.
Installed DSC Alexor
After getting countless quotes from alarm installers trying to fob me off with the cheapest system they could get away with installing I opted for the professionally installed DSC Alexor. I got mine Online for £599.98 for basic kit plus extras required fully installed. It was £499.98 without installation and I require a monitored alarm anyway. Installation took most of the day. We had extra sirens inside and out plus we wanted the vanishing contact detectors recessesed into the door frames so the were completely hidden. Great looking wireless keypad and easy to use. I particularly like the LCD keyfob remote as it comes with a backplate so can be used as a small keypad at top of stair landing too. Very nice burglar alarm as they go and glad my research eventually paid off.
Installed Alexor Alarm
We opted for the installed DSC Alexor alarm system. We choose the Alexor after doing research on the met police website and talking to our insurance provider. After booking installation took place the following week. We were firstly impressed with the looks of the system parts especially the LCD keypad and keyfob with display screen. We added an extra internal siren as this could distract an intruder from the main control panel. The vanishing contact detectors are perfect for our UPVC windows as we did not want the to be visible for cosmetic reasons. Easy to arm, part arm and dis-arm using the wireless keypads or keyfob which we keep up stairs. Very nice burglar alarm to have in your home as burglar alarm go.
Alarm for installers
Top of the range alarm system. Head and shoulders above anything else on the market. Not cheap but as ever you get what you pay for and security is one area not to skimp on. Very impressive design, very well thought out in every aspect. Great wireless range of up 100m indoors. I have installed 3 DSC Alexor systems so far and I have never seen a better looking or user friendly alarm system wired or wireless. Wireless external sirens ease installation.I would prefer if the Alexor had came with comfort LEDs for the external siren as these show that the alarm box is live to passers on not just a dummy box. The wireless LCD Keypad impresses the customers when they see them in the flesh so to speak. Very impressive and sets the standard for all burglar alarm systems.
Yale Premium Alarm HSA 6400
The Yale Premium Alarm HSA 6400 is a feature packed wireless alarm system with fitted 3 number telephone dialler included inside the control panel. The premium alarm will contact up to three telephone numbers in the event of an activation. You can also dial in and set the system remotely over the telephone. The alarm can be fully and part armed for when inside or away from the property. As with all Yale alarms in the HSA series the alarm system can take up to 20 detectors. The look and feel of the HSA Yale alarm systems are in keeping with Yale's brand name associated with quality security products. Easy installation, reliability with good looks help sum up Yale's HSA alarm models.
The Yale premium alarm is great value for what you get. If you on a low budget and need a decent DIY alarm system the is the one for you. Installation time is around 3-4 hours. All the movements detectors (2) and door contact detectors (2) are wireless. A big plus on the Yale premium alarm is that it is supplied with a working and dummy siren for the rear of your property. If you cannot afford a higher grade alarm or it is out of you installation capabilities the Yale premium alarm could be the answer.
Get one with Comfort LEDs!
I agree with the other reviews. After reading up and doing my research I found a supplier the sold Zico comfort LEDs. It was a concern of mine that the Yale premium alarm did not have these as it seems to have all the other features I was looking for. IE wireless installation , LCD control panel and telephone auto dialler. From my last property I was used to seeing and being reassured by the comfort LEDs on the external siren Bello boxes on the alarm system I used to have there. Very happy with my new alarm. Great product at an amazing price.
A lot of alarm for the money
The Yale premium alarm is great value if you are pricing DIY alarm around the £200 price range. Control panel with built in siren and telephone dialler are included in the price along with 4 detectors and 2 external sirens (One working and One Dummy) . A easy to follow manual, installation and users manual are also supplied. Installation was straight forward as the detectors register to the control panel as soon as your pull the battery tab to activate them. Then its just a case of entering descriptors such as "Hallway" and moving on to entering the telephone number on the dialler. All done in just over 3 hours. Great value.
Great alarm from Yale
I bought the Yale premium alarm as it had a working and fully wireless external siren. The other features such as the telephone dialler are a bonus and very handy. I put in 6 PIR movement detectors and two smoke detectors. Installation time was around 3 hours. As the alarm is wireless there is no need to worry about lifting floor boards or wallpaper. I will add a remote keypad for the backdoor soon..
Yale Premium alarm
Great alarm for a first time installer. Lots of features and the entry and exit times can be set to match your requirements. You can part set the alarm for when at home or in bed. The alarm will call if it ever goes off. Internal and external sirens alert you and the siren has a flashing strobe that can be seen when the alarm sounds. I would have awarded 5 out of 5 if comfort LEDs were on the siren outside. Nice looking DIY alarm that does not stick out like a sore thumb. I am really pleased with my choice of the Yale premium alarm.
Scantronic Ion 16 Alarm
The Scantronic I-ON16 has 16 wireless zones has EN50131 Grade 2x for a professional installation. The I-ON16 uses the Scantronic class leading radio system with improved signal strength.
Great professional grade alarm
If have installed the scanny ion 16 for the last two years. After some initial teething problem with the external bell connection everything has gone smoothly since. I now recommend this alarm when a customer does not want me to run wires or in a new build house.Nice looking and very reliable wirefree alarm.
Not for DIY installation
Good quality alarm from
Scantronic. Nice cosmetics and range of features. Definitely not for DIY
installers. No technical support offered to end users only qualified installers.
Expect to pay around £250 for installation.
This Scantronic Ion 16 Alarm is a great little alarm and reasonably priced , I liked the fact that the control panel and keypad are separate items. I chose to go for the Pet Friendly PIRs as I have a small dog and so far so good she hasnt set the alarm off. I also went for the plug on speech dialler as this can call up to 4 numbers or send messages to let me know what the problem is.
This alarm is very stylish and having the choice of Keyfobs or Keytags is great as this makes life easier when coming home with lots of shopping, just press a button or swipe. I also chose a 2 button panic alarm (fob) which is great for mum. For the price I thought this alarm was a very good investment.
A really nice wireless alarm system. I think scantronic have a winner with the I-ON 16. Interesting control panel to keypad set up thats not like anything I have seen before. Trouble free wirefree installation as normal with scantronic. Done a mix of PIRs and contact detectors accross a three level townhouse with no lose of signal strengh. SR Alarms
ESP Infinite Prime GSM Alarm
GSM version of the popular ESP Infinite Prime. With the GSM dialler fitted neatly within the holders in the control panel you can effectively use your mobile phone as a remote control for your burglar alarm. You even control electrical appliances with the optional HA home automation module also fitted. The GSM ESP Infinite Prime is an excellent looking alarm system that does more then just protect your property and those inside it.
Superb GSM burglar alarm
Great professional standard GSM burglar alarm. Three arming options full, part and perimeter to cover being at home and outbuildings too. Easy to install once the first device is added it is just a matter of repeating the procedure through the menu driven set up. The control panel contains the GSM dialler that will take any UK network SIM card, an standard landline dialler and internal siren sounder. A great range of detectors and accessories to complete the system. As this alarm was going into a small holiday home the kit package was good enough for me with the only other addition being a smoke detector.
GSM Alarm Review
ESP Infinite Prime GSM Alarm I bought this ESP Infinite Prime GSM Alarm System after having a look around different systems and I liked the GSM especially getting it as part of a kit, some to the other systems I looked at you have to buy this separately and it costs a fortune. I got an electrician to fit this for me as I needed a certificate for my insurance. I have per friendly movement detectors so that the cat does not need to be locked up in one room when I am out. This Alarm looks the part and I am more than happy with everything so far.
Grade 2 Class 2 GSM Alarm
Very high quality Grade 2 Class 2 GSM Burglar alarm. I would say this burglar alarm is more suited to experienced installers than first time DIYers. We have supplied then to customer through the north London area for the last two years with not issues of false alarm what so ever. We have now switched over from wired alarms apart form were a customer insists on having one or were extreme range and overly thick stone walls with a lot of granite in their construction may be a problem. People love the text control and monitoring given by the GSM ESP Prime. This alarm looks the part too.
GSM alarm with lots of features
I had to get a GSM burglar alarm for my holiday home after my brother had his taken over by squatters. Believe me you do not want this happening get round there ASAP. With a GSM alarm even if the phone line is cut you can monitor the alarm system over the mobile phone network. You can dial in and listen too if you have too. Hopefully I wont have to ever use this. For £400 I have a grade 2 class 2 alarm with GSM monitoring. Great value when you see the quality compared to some toy GSM alarms being punted about the internet.
